Free Public Sit-in for Class Two to Four of MABS 67 II and MABS 68 II of 2020 Master of Arts in Buddhist Studies (English Medium)

To further Pali and Sanskrit learning and the reading Buddhist texts from original Indian source materials, as part of the Dhamma mission of BDCHK, the second to fourth lecture of MABS 67 II Readings in Pali Suttas II: Readings of Selected Sutta Passages and MABS 68 II Reading Buddhist Sanskrit Texts II: Reading of Selected Buddhist Sanskrit Texts of 2020 Master of Arts in Buddhist Studies (English Medium) (MA) programme will be also be free for public sit-in. Members of the public from all parts of the world are welcome to join the second to fourth lecture for free for learning Sanskrit and lessons that the original Sanskrit texts (and their different parallels) illuminate about the historical and doctrinal development of Indian Buddhism.

To facilitate dissemination of course meeting ID and password, members of public interested in sitting in the second class are required to register online. The ZOOM meeting ID and password will be sent to all registered members of the public through email upon registration. Registration will be accepted on first-come first-served basis.

You should NOT disclose the meeting ID and password to third-parties.

During video conferencing, you may optionally switch off the video function. However, you are required to use your name as appeared on the registration form as screen name in the login session. Please keep the microphone off when the lecturer(s) deliver the lecture. You are invited to switch on the microphone during the reading of Pali and Sanskrit passages and during the question-and-answer session.

Ven. Prof. K L Dhammajoti has taught in the Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies for 22 years. Subsequently, he has taught in Centre for Buddhist Studies of The University of Hong Kong. He was the Endowed Professor (Buddhist Studies) at The University of Hong Kong, and he was awarded the 2015 Khyentse Foundation Fellowship by Khyentse Foundation. Ven. Dhammajoti is now the abbot of Aloka Vihara Foundation Limited, the Director of The Buddha-Dharma Centre of Hong Kong, as well as the Chair Professor of School of Philosophy, Renmin University of China. He is dedicated to the promotion of integration of different Buddhist traditions.)

After the fourth lecture, members of public need to enrol as Occasional Student in the MA programme as appropriate if they wish to continue attending the course unit.
